Who we are
We are FaSTTUBe—the Formula Student Team of TU Berlin. Since 2005, we’ve been designing, building, and racing formula-style electric cars with passion, precision, and Berlin grit.
Our team unites students from diverse fields—engineering, design, business, and more—who work together to push the boundaries of student-built motorsport.
What sets us apart is our commitment to hands-on innovation, our iconic steel space frame, and the howl of our dual-chain drivetrain. For us, FaSTTUBe isn’t just a project—it’s a culture of learning, teamwork, and the drive to build something extraordinary.

Using state-of-the-art CFD simulations, we design the geometries of the wings and other aerodynamic components so that our vehicles are pressed onto the road with sufficient downforce in every driving situation. But we don’t stop at simulation – we bring our developments to life and ensure that they shine on the vehicle in carbon fiber or other fiber composite materials.

Electronics
Die Elektronik bildet das Herzstück vieler Bauteile und ist tief in dem Rennwagen verankert. Das Subteam kümmert sich um sämtliche elektrische Komponenten: Sensoren, Aktoren und Steuergeräte arbeiten präzise zusammen, kommunizieren über den Kabelbaum und bilden so das Nervensystem der Fahrzeuge.
Die Hochspannungsbatterie und der Inverter liefern die Energie, die den Motor antreibt – und wir sind bestrebt, dieses Potenzial voll auszuschöpfen. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Powertrain-Team entwickeln wir unser Electronics-Modul stetig weiter, um immer neue Maßstäbe zu setzen.

Operations
Our Operations team is crucial for a successful season. Without a compelling external image, professional marketing, well-thought-out event management, structured financial planning, and successful sponsorship acquisition, even the best engineering team cannot realize its full potential.
Our Statics team also works every year to be at the forefront of the financially focused disciplines of the Formula Student events (Cost Report and Business Plan). Together, we lay the foundation for success – on and off the track!

Powertrain
Everything between the high-voltage battery and the drivetrain is the responsibility of the powertrain module. This includes the battery itself, its monitoring, charging after use, and communication with the motors. Sealing all high-voltage components is also part of the powertrain team’s responsibilities. They work closely with the aero and electronics teams to ensure the best possible performance.

Software
What we lack in driver expertise in autonomous disciplines, we make up for with computing power and state-of-the-art camera technology. The Driverless Software team continues to develop and optimize the autonomous software at FaSTTUBe!

Suspension / Frame
The Suspension/Frame module is dedicated to all components that connect the body to the road. The goal is to optimally transfer the forces between the road and tires to the chassis to ensure maximum efficiency and stability. We are responsible for perfect roadholding – in every driving situation.
